Blogmas day 15. It’s Christmas

During workout sessions, I always look forward to the instructor counting down from 10 to 1. I tend to give my all in anticipation of hearing “and…1. Breath out!” I have grown to dislike the instructor that refuses to do this kind of counting.

Fam, it’s official. Let the real countdown begin… 10, 9, 8….. (we don’t get to start until tomorrow though ?)

Last year, we wrote about Christmas. Let’s do it again.

I have grown to love the name Jesus and the man Christ. Over the past year, our relationship has become important to me and tangible and I have seen him more in my life. I have had him  love on me and show me things that I did not even know about myself. I have grown to appreciate the gift and joy he is and now I think my love for Christmas should not be a surprise. It is the birth period of my savior, my friend and my love.

How intentional he is gladdens my heart. He is constantly seeking to let us know that he uses the rejected of the world, and is the light in the darkness. I am convinced it is no coincidence that his birth is remembered in December. Just as he was born in a lowly place like the Manger and hailed from a deserted place like Nazareth, he chose for his birth to be remembered in December. The month that represents the end of the year in the human calendar. He chose for it to be his season. He chose for it to be the time he shows up.

Ask me what Christmas means to me and I will tell you it is a season of hope and of love. Of hope because I get to have Jesus in my boat, and of love because God decided to give me his perfect gift.

Christmas is a season I love and Christ is the reason. I pray that even as we celebrate his birth, you will find hope for the situation that seems like it has reached a dead end. Christ is born, Glory in the highest.

It’s my season so I will rejoice.

Merry Christmas……

What does Christmas mean to you?

with Love,

Afiya.

Christmas is a time to celebrate a love that I can’t wrap my mind around. A love so deep, so wide and massive that sometimes I can’t believe it is mine and find it hard to embrace it fully just in case it is all a dream…

So Christmas is a time to be grounded in God’s word and accept God’s eternal love for mankind; a time of an in-depth thanksgiving and celebrating Jesus, who is love personified.
